This week end was siblings week end at my sister's home outside Boone. I didn't have much planned for Friday, but at least wanted to swing by Silverdale Falls off of Hwy 321 north of Lenoir. I had seen it in Kevin's book (page 85) and a couple of people had emailed me about it. It's certainly worth a stop if you are in the area, but I'm glad I didn't make a special trip for it. The waterfall is 70-80' high, but the water flow was low today and the sun was out which wasn't flattering the falls any.
