This strange vehicle rides across several states checking rail tracks. He was spending the night at a local motel. He covers Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana.
They have drop down flanged wheels front and rear; and the rubber tires are spaced to drive the vehicle on the rails. They are usually referred to as "Hi-rail" trucks. This one is pretty fancy with air conditioners on the roof. They are often over grown pickup trucks. Nice find.
