Three images, a continuation of yesterday's posting where, in the last image, one of the adult Kingbirds is seen to bring a destructive Japanese Beetle to the nest. Presently in the top image, the adult prepares to give the tasty morsel (Beetle) to one of the Young.
In this second image, the adult gently deposits the Beetle deep inside the young one's throat.
In this third (final) image, the adult seems to be waving adieu, perhaps an indication that lunch is over for now. So sad.
Like the adult Kingbird, I have to say "So long for a while to all my Pbase friends". We are leaving for a few weeks vacation in New Brunswick to spend time with our son and his family who live in Halifax. I'm hoping to do some photography/birding whilst there. We have rented a house right on the Northumberland Stait and I'm told there should be ample opportunity for that there.
Hope to get back on board in a few weeks
Hank
