Rocky Mountain National Park has the highest paved roads in any National Park in the United States. Trail Ridge Road crests at 12,183 feet (3713 meters). The gravel road on the right side of the image is the Old Fall River Road. It's a steep, one-way unpaved road. It is not suitable for RVs or low-clearance vehicles, but provides spectacular views for suitable passenger cars, trucks, or SUVs. The first time I drove it was in a 1976 Ford van with a 3-speed (on the column) manual shift. That made for some exciting hair-pin turns.
