Mackinac Island & Fort Michilimackinac 47

British soldiers fire the fort's cannons every hour. Visitors have already gathered for the excitement. The cannon is prepared with military precision with ample story telling to enrich and give understanding to why certain things, ceremonial and practical, are done when preparing to shoot a cannon. Everyone loves the stories. Then, to a group chant of "Long Live the King..." the cannon is fired. It's like drinking a cold glass of water when you're thirsty. You came to see and hear the firing of a cannon. It was everything you hoped it would be. No one was disappointed.
