There is a lake at CECRA called Pozo Don Pedro, and its know to have 3 anacondas. One is 8-meters (24-ft). My friends an I went to the lake once, but did not see anacondas. I went back again by myself and still nothing. One of the local Peruvian naturalist said I shouldn't go alone, that he would go with me to find the snake. There were 5 of us that went to the lake, we got in the canoe, and within 5 minutes found the anaconda sleeping in the grass. We took pics, then paddled into the grass to get closer. More pics, then we started pulling the canoe even closer. We were 8 ft. away for this pic then it suddenly awoke and went into the lake.
