Mt Semeru is one of the most active volcanoes in Java and also the highest.There have been at least 55 eruptions since 1818 and every 10 minutes you would see small eruptions spewing out steam and smoke. Strange that Mt Semeru seemed very dormant when I was there.

As the sun rises up and it's first rays started to land on the trio of Mt Semeru, Mt Bromo & Mt Batok, the summit of Mt Semeru is the first recipient of the warm golden light.
