Yeah, 40 years ago it would have easily taken an hour to get from Superior back to Main St and Lindsay in Mesa. Back then this motel had a pool, too. By the way, the sign was built and installed in 1960. It is a relic of a different time for sure.
This one brings back memories. I remember as a kid some 40 years ago that this was the sign that told me we were getting close to Phoenix after driving for what seemed like hours and hours from Superior.
