Monument to honor the 'Free French Army' during WWII.
In 1940, before the Germans occupied Sein, all 132 island men sailed to England to join the Free French Army. Of them 32 would not return.
The monument was inaugurated in 1960 by General de Gaulle, president of the French Republic.
The words on the monument are: "Kentoc'h Mervel" (Sooner Death) - "Le soldat qui ne se reconnait pas vaincu a toujours raison".
