Group Four: R1b1b2a1b4c1 L1- L2+ L20+ L21- M222- Kit 41419
All four groups share a common ancestor down to R1b1b2a* (M269). Group three continues to be on the original course at R1b1b2a*. Group one branches off at (U106) and becomes R1b1b2a1a*. Groups two and four branch off together at (U152) but then Group 2 continues on this path R1b1b2a1b4* as group four makes another branch at (L20) and becomes R1b1bb2a1b4c1. The * indicates that the final SNP has not yet been found at time of testing (yet to be discovered). Members should print out the charts (right click on large photo and select print picture).

HOOKS GENERAL FUND: https://www.familytreedna.com/groups/hooks/about/background
This fund will be used to help defray the cost of the Y-chromosome DNA test. All contributions go directly to Family Tree DNA and are deposited into a general fund earmarked for the Hooks DNA Project. Contributors may specify how the funds are to be used, i.e. for the descendants of John Hook/s/e of England, or for a test for a specific participant, or they may make a general contribution to be used by any participant who meets the criteria for using the fund. A General Fund contribution can also be made "in memory" of someone. This is a great way for persons interested in this project to assist others who are unable to pay for the test.

BOYET/HOOKS TIMELINE
DID POLLY MARRY THE BOY NEXT DOOR?
by Mary Elizabeth Jackson
The HOOKS and BOYETT families appear to have been neighbors off and on for well over a hundred years.
1629 William HOOKS (1) was first listed as arriving in Virginia. (Nugent, Nell Marion Cavaliers and Pioneers, Vol. 1, p. 22, Patent Book No. I, part I).
1668 Stephen DURDEN had 250 acres in the Upper Parish of o Nansemond near land grant of Robert HOOKES.
(Walter, Alice Granbury, Virginia Land Patents. Abstracts from Patent Book 6, p. 209).
1682 Land Grant to Robert HOOKS in Nansemond Co., VA. The Patent referred to "ye said HOOKS his father in a lapsed grant for the same land.
(Grant Book 11, p. 115). (?father? indicated above seems to have been the same as William of 1629).

About 1823 Burrell moved to Georgia, for later records show his two
sons, John and William, were born in Georgia in 1823 and 1824,
respectively. Burrell married Mary ?Polly.? Her maiden name may be
HOOKS instead of BALLARD as thought previously. From Georgia (if in
fact they lived in Georgia - the migration pattern is extremely
unusual if they did) they moved to Covington Co., AL before 1830.
Burrell is enumerated in the federal censuses of Covington County, in
1830, 1840, and 1850.
