5th - Long Nights (Into the Wild) - Eddie Vedder
by Bob Reynolds

-- Long Nights - Video on YouTube --

Have no fear
For when I'm alone
I'll be better off than I was before

I've got this light
I'll be around to grow
Who I was before
I cannot recall

Long nights allow me to feel...
I'm falling...I am falling
The lights go out
Let me feel
I'm falling
I am falling safely to the ground
Ah...

I'll take this soul that's inside me now
Like a brand new friend
I'll forever know

I've got this light
And the will to show
I will always be better than before

Long nights allow me to feel...
I'm falling...I am falling
The lights go out
Let me feel
I'm falling
I am falling safely to the ground

Great eye you had here. I like the subject and the light, and this pastel coloured sky as well. ebdika

Great light, and great find.

Looks like someone made it a wooden cross. Rip.

Really nice end-of-day light, really brought out the tones on this poor old wreck.
It looks like is slowing sinking into the sand

The old days of tooling around the country in a beat-up bus are so beautifully and poignantly evoked here. If only this beast could talk! The colours and clarity of the image are superb, too.

Even the waste can be in the service of beauty.

You have managed to turn a really ugly, damaged object into a very good photo. And in connection with the lyrics, we easely can imagine how bad those nights might have been.
