The Sundowners - by Dennis

1960 Australian film starring Robert Mitchum and Deborah Kerr based on the internationally-known Australian book by author Jon Cleary. The Sundowners tells of a nomadic family struggle to survive as they travel across 1930s Australian Outback to pursue their dream of settling down on their own farm.

Thanks for all the nice comments.
I was thinking of calling it Australia but that's way too corny just like the movie! But the scenery was magnificent!
I am not a fan of Australian movies as they too often do not convey a true picture of Australia's character or culture.

This could be a scene straight from the new movie "Australia" which by the way, was a very good movie. Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman were the stars. This looks straight from that movie. I do slightly recall this movie too. By the way........great shot!

The warm sepia tone implies the dry, baked terrain. I loved this movie when I was growing up and have never forgotten it. You've definitely done it justice with this shot. Excellent!

This life looks hard. I can understand how they had to struggle. Your photo reflects that very well.
