On the fourth floor of the Greaves building there is/was the Operating Room where some of the
surgeries would take place during the days when the facility operated as a TB Hospital.
This is a shot of some of the sterilization equipment that still remains on the floor.

There is tremendous folklore built around Tranquille. The surgical floor was used during the TB sanitorium days. The residents who later occupied Tranquille were not mentally ill, they were developmentaly disabled (downs syndrome, autistic, obssesive compulsive disorder, brain damage at birth etc.). Lobotomys were not performed on these people.
