Historic Site in the Park

Grand Tetons N.P., WY

The tiny chapel sits on a small rise with the Tetons as a backdrop, within the southern entrance to the park. The rustic log building has become a favorite place to hold a wedding. The window behind the alter inside frames the incredible Cathedral Peaks of the Grand Tetons. Built in 1925, the chapel still functions as an Episcopal church and is operated by St. John's Episcopal Church in Jackson, Wyoming. The church is open from late May to late September with Eucharist at 8 am and service at 10 am. From Moose, take Teton Park Road to Chapel of the Transfiguration Road, one mile north of Moose Junction.
