Great site colin. I am regularly down here at Portimao. i live Orkney Isles ,north of Scotland, so it is great to see the different bird life hear. i have observed a small group of raptors that seem to nest in the same beach cliff location. When a seagull threatened one of the nests ,about 5 adult birds flew and attacked the gull. what would theyu have been. they seemed to screech like Peregrines but where smaller.
