June 2009

Red Maple This tree grows in my daughter's yard and always looks amazing with the light shining through it.
Best on Original

Instructions: I copied the full size picture and pasted it in a 800x600 new blank frame and adjusted it until I was satisfied. Then I cropped a small piece of the light yellow from the center of the leaf (on the full size picture) and resized that to a 1000x750 (the piece I cropped was really small so it blurred quite a lot so I did a Fractalius effect on it) Then I overlayed the picture on it and did a drop shadow then flattened the layers and put about a #3 black border on it. Then I used my freehand selection tool to crop the ends of the leaves and pasted each as new images while I cleaned off around the edges then I copied the two layers and added a red border and a black border (until they were long enough for the longest leaf)then pasted the two layer on it and did another drop shadow then I copied the cropped leaf tips and pasted each of the them making adjustment on those.
It would have taken me maybe 10 minutes if I had known what I wanted but instead it took me about 2 hours

other sizes: small medium large original auto
