25-MAY-2009 Geoff Smith

Albuquerque Zoo, New Mexico

Although artistically edited in Photoshop, this is one of my favorite nature photos.

I had a sense of ancestral evolution; but not of man evolving from inferior ape;
but rather of the grace that man can aspire and evolve to as portrayed in the photograph.

1/250s f/2.8 at 180.0mm iso280 full exif

When they look at me as I watch them, I feel so embarrassed for being on the other side of the containment. Lovely shot Geoff

I don't see sadness in this image myself, I see a sense of peace about him and feel a certain sense of intrigue. It is a lovely image and I found myself quite drawn to it. v

Geoff, such a great expression and light in the eyes. I very much like your treatment as well. Super image.

I love going to the zoo, but the sad/bored look in the animals' eyes can break your heart.
