The Underwood

My dad got this for my birthday when I was in fourth grade. It was probably forty-fifty years old then,
but it has survived. It was used by him (he could type 60 words a minute on these)
for the family business, it was used by my sister and myself for reports and term papers.
It's been used for about everything. It's dusty now and needs a ribbon, or at least re-inked.
It types a typeface that is all caps - but in lower case and upper case, that I forget the name of.
The Tab bar is bent, from something heavy, sitting or being dropped on it.
I wonder how many current laptops and desktops will be running in 90 years?

I also have one of those old Underwood, and I have put it in the main entrance of my house. It was also a tool for me. And I also take photos of it. It seems everybody has one and love it !

Chuckle... Looks like one my brother & I retrieved from a repair shop when kids. Wonderful example of before "the disposable days" came along. Thanks for the memories. ;-)
