A Solid Rocket Booster (SRB) Aft Skirt showing the two 'dog house covers' (red) on top of two Hold Down Posts. The two northern Hold Down Posts need protection since they see the full brunt of the 5,000 deg F motor plume as the Shuttle vehicle leaves the launch pad.
