This iconic formation is amazing and your shot enhances the textural elements - the basalt columns stand out. A great shot, perfect for the challenge. I can never see a Devil's Tower photo without thinking of Close Encounters. Brenda

Yes Goffen, it looks like this all the way around. I love the part in the movie where he was trying to make this shape out of his mashed potatoes, remember that? I've been back since taking this shot one time. I had my E-300 already too. I made the huge mistake of having my cards downloaded onto DVD every morning at WalMart before heading out for the day. They ruined all my shots :o( They reduced them to a mere 400x600 size, useless for anything. I hope to go again soon but we can't figure out what to do with Milo. Ugggg!

I like it. Looks even more weird in your shot than in the film. Is it just as steep all the way around ? I'd like to see that one with my own eyes. I loved your story about the bears btw (in an earlier challenge). Goffen
