This old 'portrait' lens is the best I've ever used in the intangible 'look' department. My Pentax 85mm f1.4 ED-IF, 77mm f1.8 limited, Nikkor 85mm f1.4 and Leica's own 90mm f/2 APO Summicron-M asph are all somewhat outdistanced by this humble but jewel like old Elmarit. Of course it has real problems at f stops larger than f2.8 where all the others shine on brightly! :-)))
