I usually ask for permission before taking a photo and if they say no I respect their privacy and move on. I tried to sneak this photo and was caught even thought I was probably a good 100 feet from her across a busy street and in an alleyway.
I felt ashamed at being caught and asked her for permission to which to she agreed. I thanked her afterward and went on my merry way.
I have regret it ever since not giving anything back. The least I could have done was to buy some food from her to help her out. This photo breaks my heart every time I look at it and sickens me for having acted so selfishly. I became one more ugly tourist
