Canard Souchet (Northern Shoveler)

Marais Parc-Nature Rivière-Des-Prairies

The shoveler was sleeping on the shore next to his better half.
Then she stretched, and started swimming away.
He delayed his departure until a couple of gadwalls came flying
a little bit too close to his taste to his female.
He then flew right near the male gadwall and "couack" at him.
Funny because the male backed away but the female gadwall positioned herself
between the two males. She stared the male shoveler down who swam away, closer to his female.
