An example of a "Drive by Shooting".
If you ever find yourself bored on a long road trip, try shooting with long exposures out the car window (passengers only!) at 100 kph. Try to aim at something with some interest, a group of trees, a barn, a transport truck, and pan against the movement of your vehicle. Since the shutter will be open, the viewfinder will be black and it will take practice to to get something that resembles a photograph.
Use a polarizer and/or neutral density filter(s) and low iso settings to allow for long exposures during the daytime. Don't worry about shooting through the glass, even if it is pouring rain ... these contribute to the artistic value of the shot. Carefull with being obvious about taking a photograph of passing vehicles, some folks are sensitive to that.
This technique is fun at nightime too and also works well on trains.
