Dale Head on the horizon and rest of ridge in front; from High Crag on Watendlath approaches

below Dale Head is the Rigghead quarries descent (after reaching Dale Head and then retracing steps); not to be confused with goats path up next gill to left/south which I used as ascent. Even less advisable as descent in poor or wet conditions; study the wall/fence alignment on 1:25000 carefully!

Back in our 35mm days,I remember being up there,desperately trying to buy film off of anyone,on such a day.Sadly,there were no takers.
