Yes, I studied all the point and shoots available at that time looking for the next best thing to the SLR and that lens was what did it for me. and it's speed is still what makes it one of the best values even today I see very few point and shoots with a lens that fast

Wow, I really like this. It is definitely my kind of shot! Beautiful colors, lovely sky, great freeze of the bird's flight ... and all done with a superb little camera. I have one of those too and still use it once in awhile. The lens is amazing, especially given the timeframe. Brenda
