A wonderful treat was the Al-Adliyya Mosque which dates from 1555. I was allowed to first climb up to its "whispering gallery" where indeed one can hear a whispered conversation verbatim across the wide space of the cupola, then on to the roof, from which one has a fine view of the citadel on one hand, and the setting sun at the other (at the right time of course). A space where the imam would wait between services was converted in a small internet café, visible when in the cupola. The tiles in the mosque are of the best period. In understand there are alternative names for this mosque, such as Adliye Camii, Dukaginzade Mehmed Pasha Mosque, Dukaginzade Mehmet Pasa Camii, Mosque al-Adeliye ('Adiliyya, al-'Adiliyya, Adiliya, al-Adiliya, 'Adiliya, al-'Adiliya)
