You are used to tall tales in Rusticana and this is no exception. Robaire has a three bound set of The Aero from 1912 /13. These were his Dads. Given to Waz for a read, Waz found this photo of the Fokker built Southern Cross tucked in the back pages of the 1912 volume. The back of the print says “ Just after landing at New Plymouth “ Aviation 1933. and carries the stamp “ COPYRIGHT” Photograph by The Evening Post Wellington – NZ.
As you would expect we have a First Edition copy of the 1928 book “We” written by Kingsford Smith and C T P Ulm. This details the 1928 Trans Pacific flight of Southern Cross. In it Southern Cross does not yet have the signature VH-USU on the fuselage.
