Bear Trails

Bering Sea

Trails headed over the ridge and onto the beach. Seagulls were sitting on rock formations extending into the water. Since neither of us had a weapon, Bryant and I were nervous after seeing that steaming bear scat in the trail we were following. Cautiously, we topped the dune while following one of the trails. Fortunately, no bears were to be seen! Below that dune lay an expansive, coal black lava beach that stretched for miles in both directions. Although I had walked the beaches of the Izembek Lagoon, I was amazed at the scene that now unfolded!
