Looking rather like the Easter Bunny, this Great Horned Owl
was very hard to see, sitting up high in her nest, very well
camouflaged. Passing by on the road, one would never have
known that there was an owl sitting on the nest.
We had to get up very early to go and photograph her in the
morning sun. Someone had very kindly told us when we were
looking at a different owl's nest the previous week about this
nest he had discovered but it was backlit at the time, late
afternoon. I have cropped the image quite a lot as I was so
far away, 300mm plus the 1.4x teleconverter.
