Comet Ikeya-Zhang

Comet Ikeya-Zhang as seen from my backyard in Whitefish Bay, Wis., on April 10, 2002. It's a 35 second exposure, using a Nikon D1 and 58mm Noct-Nikkor lens.

The comet was discovered by Chinese astronomer Zhang Daqing and Japanese astronomer Kaoru Ikeya. The orbital period was calculated as 366.51 years.
