Aqueduct

near Bearley, Warks. view map

Up early this morning, but had time to stop at Edstone Aqueduct (at 250 yards it's the longest in England) which carries the Stratford-upon-Avon Canal over the Aston Cantlow-Bearley road. Just visible under the aqueduct is the Stratford to Birmingham Moor Street railway line

Another interpretation of ground, feet and under, although an early morning stroll fifty feet in the air while still half-asleep isn't to be recommended.

What an amazing sight to see water in a channel like this! In Australia the evaporation rate would be too great though some farmers inadvisably have channels if they live
near a river.

Very good comp. and depth. Always wondering how these Aqueducts look like from above when passing underneath. Now I know. TFS. V

Oooo that's scary - I've seen that aqueduct before, it always looks so... flimsy. Gulp.
