Tombstone dates to 1877 when silver was discovered nearby. It became a boomtown city of 15,000 before going bust in the mid-1880s. The basic story of the wild-west aspect of the town in the film "Tombstone", though somewhat fictionalized, appears to be a good depiction of what life was like here during the era of the "cow-boys".
