Earles Station, 4590 Earles Street at Vanness Avenue, East Vancouver
"This was the last remaining electrical substation that powered the BC Electric interurban railway, whose right-of-way
now accomodates Skytrain tracks. The massive concrete structure, a landmark in a neighbourhood of bland, low buildings
was superbly converted by Linda Baker (1989) into 12 suites (4 per floor), with the changes, such as the steel balconies,
respectful of the original design."
