Our next leg of the Everglades Adventure was a drive to Everglades City where we boarded a large pontoon boat to tour the Ten Thousand Islands, hoping to see manatees, dolphin, and a variety of seabirds. Our pontoon boat had to idle through the Manatee Zone, the shallows near the port where those gentle giants lay just beneath the water surface.
