Although these twin galaxies are a popular target near the Big Dipper's bowl, a smaller galaxy NGC-3077 is often overlooked. At 10th magnitude (at bottom right), it is easily seen in smaller telescopes, but is just out of range when viewing the larger galaxies in most low-power eyepieces. This image is a larger frame from which the preceding photo was cropped. It was taken at Ottawa Lake, in the southern unit of Kettle Moraine State Park in Wisconsin on March 27, 2009.
