Gaelic hasn't been spoken in Fife for centuries but most of the older place names in Fife are derived from gaelic and/or Pictish (eg placenames with the prefix Pit as in Pittenweem).
Kincraig probably derives from the gaelic words cenn (head) and carraig (rocky) denoting a rocky headland.
