These wonderful animals are perhaps the most human of the apes
and frequently referred to as the forgotten ape. I thank Marian Brickner
for inroducing me to these Bonobos at the Jacksonville Zoo.
I was there photographing the Mandrills when she told me about
the Bonobo family at the Zoo. Marian is a St. Louis photographer
very involved in Bonobo awareness. They are one of the most endangered
apes. Their social interaction is what I found so fascinating.
