Great shot of truly marked land. I'm surprised the the foliage is still on the seemingly burnt trees.

At first I just took this for a fall shot in Australia - then I read your explanation on the bushfires. It looks so peaceful...
Btw, I understand your going stir-crazy: I'm looking forward to being able to go out on the (back of the) motorbike again, as well (weather is lousy here right now, plus my "driver" is away).

hey Dennis,

this was my first real outing on the motorbike for over 6 weeks due to the fires - almost stir crazy as these hills and communities are our conduit to the mountains beyond. I could have stopped and photographed scenes of utter devastation, but it was like riding through a scene from the holocaust, and i'm not ready to do this yet. The 'hope' of the green allowed me this stop.

This pic was south of Flowerdale after an 11 hour ride through Healesville, Buxton, Eildon, Strathbogie, Ruffy, Yea, Flowerdale, then back through Whittlesea home to the city.

Cheers D, adrian

Nice contrasts of blue sky, white clouds, burnt trees and green grass. Very well captured Adrian. I like the touch of the flag on the post. Where was this taken?
I am most reluctant to venture into the bushfire areas due to the awful tragedy that took place but I also know there will be some amazing photograph opporunities out there.
