Note the devastation of the shore caused by the recent floods which resulted from the mud slides triggered by the recent earthquake. Note the mud still adhering to the plants in the top image. There was extensive loss of wildlife habitat along both shores. The water was also still very muddy and flowing extremely fast. As a result we saw a lot less wildlife than usual according to our guide and driver.
