I skied further up the other side and then gave up my skis as others had done already. Faster than side stepping. We did not have to do this 10+ years ago. Not too much further the ridge started down again, and you could see ski and snowshoe tracks. You see ski tracks that descended the broad face here to White River. It looked easier than doing the shorter but steeper and more narrow area just before the slope becomes covered with trees, but then I wasn't really thinking of doing it.

The snow was sticky here and I did not want to push the aval. danger so I turned around here.
