Zagreb - Croatia

It is a must for Me. Fresh meal daily, prepared By Myself. I found those translations for fish we call Škarpina: Grooper, Grouper, Red fish.

I'm sitting here in the hotel with my coffee, tired of "travel food", and wishing I could have what's on your plate! It looks so delectable. The olives are a fine touch. I love those!! Give me salt over sweets any day. Beautifully presented.

Acwalbur, aggressive framing and angle of shot were done to avoid the whole neighbourhood around the plate. :-))

A delicious meal, and not for the timid. Photographically, I find it interesting that you didn't go for the "low angle, shallow DOF" food shot that is so typical. The high angle and stark light is very atypical for a food shot and almost refreshing. Maybe slightly less aggressive framing and keep the entire plate in?

we use lemon to garnish fish the common element here is acid content in lemon and green olives. We also use Swiss shard but you have found a new use for it. I must try this

Thanks for the comments so far.
Richard, I usually don't care what is common, if I like it, but fish, olive oil and olives, are well together and often used combination along the Adriatic coast. The other vegetable is potatoes boiled and some olive oil added. Swiss chard (not sure if it is the right name,it is spinach like) is often as attachment for fish, here.

Red snapper fish and grouper are common names here but green olives with fish is not a common combination of foods, but it does appeal to me and I will try some green olives with my fish the next time around.

what is the other vegetable?

Like Shirley said I am now hungry

I think Grouper is the familiar name for me but who cares what you call it, your meal looks very tasty! Very nicely photographed too. Now, you've made me hungry and it's bedtime!

Are not we the luckiest people on earth? and perhaps you a bit luckier in that you know how to cook a meal that you enjoy eating :-)

Looks very tasty Miro.
Never tried green olives with fish, I think this must work really well on the taste buds.
