The word "Maibec" is derived from Maine and Quebec. This checkpoint is a logging camp that is made available to the Can Am race. The large building has a commercial kitchen and living area, 24 beds, bath facilities and a drying room for wet gear. There are two smaller buildings used by the veterinarians, and the Search and Rescue crew.
