Step Inside This House

Klamath Falls, OR

Just inside the front door, I have this small Apache Burden Basket. It was from my "rez days" (the Navajo Reservation). Large ones are used to carry things. The small one is symbolic. You put your cares and problems in it when you walk in the door. They then don't have a chance to enter your home life.

"Step Inside this House" by Lyle Lovett (a poor recording, but it's all they had of the song.)

Like this basket & what a great symbolic use! Be good for the keys then you never have to worry about trying to find them!

Extremely lovely basket and the story about is "merveilleuse" !
I got something similar (from Canadians Indians) to put in the children bedrooms for them don't have nightmares...!

That is a good idea! Maybe we should all have a basket by the door!
