One day, while driving away after fishing at Russell Creek, I saw a bear on the hill above the creek. I got out of the vehicle and walked to a point above the bear to take a picture. As I did, I noticed that the bear was limping. I was emboldened and approached as closely as I dared before snapping the shutter. Needless to say, I was disappointed that the bear did not show up better in the photo. It sure seemed bigger in real life! While I was trying to decide if the bear with its bum leg could run up the hill fast enough to catch me, it turned and looked my direction. I decided that it could not run fast enough, so I stayed and watched. Finally, it lumbered away from me, down toward the creek.
