The Iwatayama Monkey Park was the first place we went after spending all day on September 12 watching the horror of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. It is definitely something in Kyoto that should not be missed - you are totally surrounded by wild monkeys. One stole a role of film, luckily unexposed, from my camera case which I left open on a bench. Going there really helped cheer us up.
