The Torridon glen is as quintessentially Scottish as they come. Wonderful shapely mountains that spring up from beside the narrow single track road, boulder filled streams with tumbling crystal clear water and then there are the Scots pine trees that have clearly had a tough life. This wonderful twisted tree with red flaking trunk and luminous evergreen canopy contrasted superbly in the sunlight against the reflected light of a clear blue sky on a savage crust of hoar frost.
