my grand fathers hat he lived to be 97 years old
and was a very wise man.

here is a poem gramp for what you did for me.

twenty six years ago when my life i thought was over
from drinking booze everyday and never being sober
i came to your house up on the hill
up to your barn to drink my self full
as i was drinking and getting drunk
tears running down my cheeks i heard a thump
it was my uncle he saw me a defeated man sitting in a chair
why dont you go talk to gramp ill take you down there
so up i got and went to the house
he sit there in the rocking chair smoking his pipe
i sit down to his delite
how are you he said how do you do
i quickly answered i need to talk to you
he said i been waiting all these years to hear that from you
ive watched you drink and prayed for you
you go get help we all love you
the tears of being defeated rolled down my cheeks
the fear was gone i wanted this to be
my grandfather thank you for setting me free
your dead and gone but always near
your love has given me many sober years
and gramp as i write this poem there is still plenty of tears.
