Our wild pheasant in full regalia right in front of the house. Its getting very familiar. This type of shot shows the value of having a 150-500 zoom where you can adjust the distance to the subject. No way can a 300mm or 500mm prime do that. The Nikon 200-400 f2.8 is best at that game, but rather expensive and heavy.
