2nd - Tidal River, Wilsons Promontory by Dennis

The southernmost point of the Australian mainland, Wilsons Promontory (affectionately known to Victorians as 'the Prom') is arguably the most loved national park in Victoria. Its 130 km coastline is framed by granite headlands, mountains, forests and fern gullies. Tidal River, 30 km inside the park boundary, is the focus for tourism and recreation. The park contains the largest coastal wilderness area in Victoria. Most of the park is accessible by foot only and numbers of visitors/hikers is restricted. To experience some of the park's secrets is by taking an overnight hike to one of the 11 outstation campsites. Hikes range from beginner to intermediate standard, and one to five nights duration.

Works really well Dennis, and I think I prefer to the others. Great sky, water, reflections, the solid stones, just works really well. Alistair

Again I love the nice boulder/rocks. The scenery couldn't get any better for a river. Are you allowed to fish from it? You mentioned camping trips so I was just wondering if the diet for supper is fish.

A bold and dramatic shot - no wonder it was a prize winner for you. You live in such a scenic region! I hope this part hasn't been touched by the fires.

Strong and simple Dennis, like it a lot.

Thanks for the comments. This is one of my favourite shots and a black & white version has won me a very nice Epson photo printer. I have posted the b&w version in originals.

Outstanding picture. The landscape here looks so pretty. Along with the clouds, it's one to frame for sure. Very well seen. V

I think this is my favourite of the three; I really like the strong foreground shapes of the rocks echoed by the mountains beyond
